Once again, this year, I collaborated with Joe Mruk for the design of the SFCC The Club’s theme “Love Mending Hope”. The poster and the t-shirt illustrate a gypsy woman crouched by a tattered vintage machine that raccoons have made a home out of. The flowers on her back represent a regenerative spirit, and if you look closely at the cards, you can also see something specific to each one that signifies hope, change and transformation.
In the midst of all we had to face in the last 18 months, “Love Mending Hope ” means all the possibilities that are ahead of us now, as a new daylight emerges from our darkness. Only love has the power to mend our hope in new emancipating dawns. No matter what was before or was not, we can be simply alive and free.
