Alex Henry Foster (Your Favorite Ennemies)<\/strong>, originaire de Montr\u00e9al, nous pr\u00e9sente son nouvel album, Kimiyo, \u00e0 para\u00eetre le 26 avril prochain. Le producteur et compositeur, d\u00e9sormais en solo, s\u2019associe \u00e0 l\u2019artiste Momoka Tobari<\/strong>. En japonais, elle interpr\u00e8te les paroles de ce dernier dans une narration essentiellement neutre, parfois chant\u00e9e.<\/p>

Les pistes sont instrumentales et m\u00e9ditatives et comprennent neuf titres immersifs qui \u00e9voluent dans leur th\u00e9\u00e2tralit\u00e9. La complexit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u0153uvre est li\u00e9e au nombre d\u2019instruments qui y sont pr\u00e9sents et aux juxtapositions moins fr\u00e9quentes de ces derniers. Nous percevons un processus exploratoire et fluide, \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on d\u2019une toile abstraite. La particularit\u00e9 de l\u2019album rel\u00e8ve de la maitrise du mouvement et de sa transition, rendant son caract\u00e8re transcendant. En employant une petite quantit\u00e9 d\u2019instrument \u00e0 la fois, soit en faisant un ajout ou un retrait, la m\u00e9lodie se d\u00e9ploie dans une perspective diff\u00e9rente. La structure est r\u00e9guli\u00e8re par sa rythmique rassurante, avant d\u2019\u00e9voluer vers des directions nouvelles, mais prudentes.<\/p>

Par exemple, dans le premier morceau Of Dream and Dust, nous percevons d\u2019abord le son d\u2019une sir\u00e8ne, qui au milieu d\u2019un paysage urbain, nous fait ressentir une tension li\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019incertitude. Une discussion indistincte, au loin, sugg\u00e8re des journaux t\u00e9l\u00e9vis\u00e9s qui accentue le c\u00f4t\u00e9 dramatique de la cin\u00e9matographie. Le rythme est lent dans une sonorit\u00e9 post-punk o\u00f9 le suspense pr\u00e9vaut dans son ensemble. Le synth\u00e9tiseur donne le ton, auquel la m\u00e9lodie est guid\u00e9e par le violon, pour ensuite \u00eatre remplac\u00e9 par le piano qui reprend la priorit\u00e9 en toute limpidit\u00e9.<\/p>

En somme, Kimiyo est un album qui nous s\u00e9duit par ses paysages, sans conna\u00eetre la destination. Tobari<\/strong> nous touche par sa narration et par son chant plus prononc\u00e9 \u00e0 certains moments, alors que Foster nous bouleverse par sa r\u00e9silience et sa cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9. Nous avons l\u2019impression d\u2019un voyage psych\u00e9d\u00e9lique qui nous laisse nul autre choix que nous abandonner \u00e0 l\u2019oeuvre et accepter sa finalit\u00e9 dans ses variations et sa dur\u00e9e.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
