When you \u201cstart fighting for something\u201d, how do you know the fight is right, that it is leading you in the right direction? &#8211; Donatien Varlez, France<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/p><p>If apathy kills, silence is murder. There\u2019s a major distinction for me. As much as some people might try to weaponize human rights, I have always believed that it\u2019s our fear of rejection or judgement that we need to keep silent when it\u2019s time to talk\u2026 The last five years or so have been about screaming. Some might argue about the necessity or the results of it all\u2026 I don\u2019t really care about that. For me, it\u2019s about dialogue always. Not convincing others, but sharing, communing, believing in changes and transformations.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1381930d elementor-blockquote--skin-quotation elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"1381930d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\tUntil then, it\u2019s my way to say \"let\u2019s talk, let\u2019s get to know each other\"\u2026 We are so much more alike than we would love to believe.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4529e515 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4529e515\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>I have always been really scared of the unicity of thoughts and the imposed idea of people being either righteous or evil. I\u2019m naive&#8230; and it\u2019s ok&#8230; But I want to believe and I decide to believe in redemption, whatever the crime, whatever the uniform, whatever the ideas. Silence goes a long way, but so does screaming. I only wish we will also allow time to gather, to talk and listen, to cry and be solaced. Maybe it\u2019s not the time now, but I hope there will be a time\u2026 Until then, it\u2019s my way to say &#8220;let\u2019s talk, let\u2019s get to know each other&#8221;\u2026 We are so much more alike than we would love to believe. Maybe that\u2019s the fear we have of others\u2026 we know ourselves&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b4d2cca elementor-blockquote--skin-quotation elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"3b4d2cca\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\tIt starts the very first morning after the \u201ccause\u201d, whatever it might be, when it has lost its popular \u201cswag\u201d.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-10cb97ac elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"10cb97ac\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Sometimes, I feel more like: \u201cIs there any solution? Are we truly looking for one? Are we past that? A permanent \u201csolution\u201d involves so much more than we would like to believe in, somehow\u2026 It starts the very first morning after the \u201ccause\u201d, whatever it might be, when it has lost its popular \u201cswag\u201d, when the circus moves to the next town. This is when the real engagement begins. Then, without the collective power of a movement, what remains is our ability for personal compassion, faith in other\u2019s forgiveness, and the hope that, regardless of the tireless time it might take to see the solution, if we ever see it, the solution will take place.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4f28ad78 elementor-blockquote--skin-quotation elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"4f28ad78\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-style: normal;font-size: 12px;line-height: normal;font-family: Helvetica;white-space: normal\"><span style=\"font-size: 17px;font-style: italic;white-space: pre-wrap;background-color: transparent\">For me, the solution starts with honesty over hype. How much do I want it? How willing am I to consecrate my life to it?<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-130e7cd2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"130e7cd2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>I struggle a lot as a person. Complacency is the virtue of irony, as much as fatalism is the cloak by which we so easily cover our own selfishness. We all like parades, but no one cares about those who clean up after. For me, the solution starts with honesty over hype. How much do I want it? How willing am I to consecrate my life to it? To pursue it with the same resilience and emergency that the idea of running out of time requires? We all need to find our own way and measure of involvement\u2026I used to believe in the concept of \u201ccauses\u201d\u2026 Now, I put my faith in the transformative power of taking time to commune with another person. It transforms everyone involved.. That\u2019s my personal way to do it.
