Sunday starts with a bang: As every year, the Orange Blossom Special has a secret act, and speculation is running at full speed – the fact that the stage is covered with a curtain for the first time in order to maintain secrecy until the last second is spurred on Conjectures only continue. At the end the cloth falls and reveals Alex Henry Foster, who is playing his first show after life-threatening heart surgery. The Canadian temporarily lost his voice during his recovery, which is why his joy of playing is even greater despite the hard and angry post-rock jams: After countless stage dives, a fiery plea for community and a ten-minute round of crowd surfing, Foster is exhausted but happy before one enthusiastic crowd and celebrates his return to life. As if the weather wanted to honor the moment, the sky closed shortly afterwards and released masses of water that turned the field into muddy terrain.
