The performance in Cologne marked a special moment for Foster: It was the final concert of his comeback tour following heart surgery. Foster shared the following on Instagram: “As we slowly approach the release of my album ‘A Nightfall Ritual,’ due out May 16th, it’s truly exhilarating to share some insights into what this concert means to me… And if I believe that ‘The Son of Hannah,’ through its subtle tenderness and vibrant fervor, represents the entire emotional transcendence of that night in Cologne, I think it also reflects the essence of where I am in my life now.”

The song “The Son of Hannah” first appeared on the live album “Standing Under Bright Lies,” recorded at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2021. Last year, Foster also released another live performance, the EP “A Whispering Moment,” this time from the Brückenfestival in Nuremberg. “A Nightfall Ritual” will be released on May 16th via Hopeful Tragedy and is already available for pre-order.
