Alex Henry Foster, known for his emotionally charged soundscapes spanning post-rock, gothic, and progressive, returns with a new music video: “The Son of Hannah,” recorded live in Cologne, premieres today. The video is part of his upcoming album, A Nightfall Ritual, released on May 16, 2025, via Hopeful Tragedy Records.

The track originally came from the Billboard-topping live album, Standing Under Bright Lights, but takes on a whole new meaning here. Foster says:

“I don’t think I could have ever reached the depth of I’m Afraid without “The Son of Hannah”—it was a necessary liberation.”

The music of the former Your Favorite Enemies frontman is characterized by personal extremes: After life-threatening heart surgery, Foster returns with deep gratitude and artistic power. “A Nightfall Ritual” promises a dark, epic journey—raw, honest, and intense.
