My Interview With La Presse

The greatest privilege one can have when fortunate enough to share the heart of their creative impulses beyond the borders of their own environment is to do so in conversations with people who share the same passion for life, spirit, art, and people, not to mention for the “world,” as we say here in Quebec.

And so, it has been a wonderful joy for me to welcome Pierre-Marc and Martin from the prestigious newspaper La Presse, one of the largest dailies in Canada, for an interview primarily about my new project “Kimiyo”. The conversation also took beautiful detours through Tangier, “Windows in the Sky,” my double heart transplant, the independent and DIY values dear to me, the tumultuous pre-production of my upcoming album, my forthcoming film, all culminating in a tour of my new vinyl pressing plant, Drummond Vinyl.

An extraordinarily human encounter, too rare, where the joy of exchange transcended the very purpose of their visit. A beautiful reminder that, much like art, the true value of a moment is defined by the nature of what is shared, not by what is being promoted.

Thank you, Pierre-Marc and Martin, for your generosity and openness! Moments like these, on a human scale, are truly soul-nourishing.
